Bath County High School has participated in the KidWind wind turbine design competition for five years. Each year that BCHS has participated, they have excelled, and year five is no different. The teams earned first place and second place in the advanced division and fist place in the regular division earning the three teams a berth to the National Competition in conjunction with the American Wind Energy Association AWEA WindPower annual meeting in Houston. The annual meeting is a convergence of all of the major wind power companies that operate in the United States and features exhibits with cutting edge technology. The students get to meet with representatives from the various companies and some students going to the competition have been offered jobs while at the conference. KidWind, like many of the other competitions that have resulted with invites to national competitions reflects the hard work that our students put into their education.
